COACHING DESCRIPTION

PREREQUISITES:
•At least 18 years old
•Complete Spiritual Coach Application
•Pass a background check
•Agree with the Groundwire Statement of Faith
•Have Internet access
PURPOSE:
A Spiritual Coach is there to offer authentic conversation in a safe environment with the intent of establishing and developing a relationship between the chatter and Jesus Christ.
GOALS FOR EACH CHAT:
•Chatters can connect to Christ
•Chatters feel loved
•Chatters are prayed for
•Chatters are connected to a local church or resource
•Chatters are encouraged to take next steps
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Agree to commit 2-4 hours or more online weekly as your schedule permits.
•Engage in conversation with chatters online, meeting them where they are, in their struggles, in their pain and to show them God’s love and desire to have a relationship with them.
•To show chatters how God can help them with all their problems and that they are not alone.
•Work with the Coaching Administrator to create a schedule reflecting your online time commitments.
•Participate in continuing training webinars, phone calls, and emails with the goal of being continually equipped to meet the challenges presented on the chat line.
APPLICATION PROCESS & TRAINING CONSISTS OF:
•Submitting an online coaching application
•Groundwire will conduct a criminal background check
•The Director of Coaching will contact your spiritual authority / Pastoral reference
•Groundwire will send training material electronically
•Coaching applicant will respond to mock situations via email
•Applicant will receive video training for the Groundwire chat software
•After applicant familiarized him or herself with the online chat software, the final step is to attend a webinar for new coaches.
•Groundwire will assign you to a mentor who will interact with you during your first weeks as a coach.
GROUNDWIRE COMMITS TO A COACH:
•Review chats for the protection of the coaches and chatters.
•Ensure that a consistent message of the word of God is being presented.
•Assign a Mentor to each coach that will act as a encourager and leader to invest in the new coach’s development over the first few months.
•Provide ongoing training and support for coaches.
