God is Waiting to use You

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

I want the best for you.  I want you to experience all of the love, peace, joy, and happiness that you can possibly handle.  I want you to know the intimate relationship with Christ that you long for and that He longs to grant.  I want you to start well and finish strong in your faith. And, I want you to know the whispers of the Lord and the incredible embrace He offers.

But, there is one more thing that I want for you as well.  I want you to know that your faith is not just about you. Your life is supposed to count for the Kingdom and your relationship with Jesus is supposed to affect those around you.

It is all too easy for us to become consumed with our daily trials and personal goals. In doing that, we forget God has placed us here to be an extension of Him.

You have been called to pray great prayers, prayers that encourage the disheartened, reach out to the lonely, and make the impossible possible.  You have been called to dream big dreams that inspire hope not only in you, but also in others.  Dreams that ask the question, “What does God want to do and how can I be a part of that?”

And, you have been called to believe God can achieve great things.  By believing that God is bigger than any trial and perceived impossibility, you can take His light into the darkest night and bring His answers into confusing situations.

Don’t limit yourself.  Throughout history God has routinely chosen to use average, ordinary people to do great things.  But it always started with their perception of how dominant God was.  When they realized that God could not lose, it gave them courage to face the most difficult of circumstances.  When they understood that even though they were frail, God could not be defeated, they had confidence to face their giants.

God is on your side. The moment that you surrendered your life to Christ, God joined in partnership with you.  The Bible says that He dwells in you and will be with you (John 14:17b).  That should inspire you to live all out for Him.

God is waiting for you to trust Him, to lean on Him, and to believe that He can make a way where there seems to be none.  When you get to that point, God will surprise you not only with His ability, but with the way that He chooses to use you. You can convince an unbelieving world that He is all that we both know He is.

Your faith will affect the world.

If you are like me, you want your life to count.  You want God to use you to touch the less fortunate and to share Jesus with those who do not know Him.  God uses those desires to move you to prayer, and ultimately, to action.  Don’t assume yours are just meaningless dreams.  Treat them as if they are defining guidance from God.

Write down some of the things that move your heart, and then make them a part of your daily prayer life.  If you begin praying about them, God will show you how to get involved in meeting those needs.
