Text Version

Relationships are one of the most profound pieces to our existence.  That is why I am amazed that the media has targeted our relationships as a main source of entertainment.  The talk shows use dysfunctional relationships to their gain as they highlight the secrets that wound.  Sitcoms and soap operas, flaunt relationships that are driven by hormones but lack commitment.

Even though game shows have even begun to emerge offering opportunity for love, they are counting on confused people saying and doing shallow things.  That is after all, where the entertainment lies.  On many levels, I think that this grieves God.  Not because He is a stick in the mud that doesn’t want us to be entertained, but because these shows use people as pawns.  They highlight people that take, manipulate, lie, and cheat. They twist relationships into a game to be played instead of a gift to be protected.  However relationships are not a game to God.  Personal relationships between God and humans is the goal of Heaven.  And, He does not take, manipulate, lie, and cheat.

He Gives, and gives, and gives.  He actually gave His son so that he could have a relationship with you.  Wouldn’t you rather have a relationship with God who will guarantee you that kind of sacrificial love?  It’s easier than you think.   © 2005 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire
